Circular economy and sustainable supply chain management
- Efficient supply chains are characterised by the fact that all processes are coordinated to the minute and interlock in the best possible way. Methods have been developed to further optimise these value creation networks by, for example, reducing inventories or increasing globalisation to fully exhaust price differences in terms of labour, energy or raw material costs. Nevertheless, the focus is on customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, the goals of further optimising and streamlining supply chains are not necessarily in harmony with the goal of meeting customer needs in the best possible manner.
