The purpose of this study is to evaluate online German fashion shopping websites from a customer perspective, based on a two-dimensional conceptual framework covering
shopping experience and shopping quality. As the research methodology, an exploratory mystery shopping approach was used in order to compare online shops. The results were as follows. First, four categories of online shops were identified: heroes, marketing winners, process winners, and underperformers. Second, three main levers for improvement were elaborated: emotionality of websites, reducing complexity, and the introduction of an industry standard of payments. From These results, it is possible to analyze and benchmark websites and to adapt online Marketing decisions as well as general management strategies for online fashion Shopping companies. The study has originality and value as it is the first time that an Evaluation of websites has combined the consumer´s perspective before the purchase and its fulfillment (e.g. delivery) after the online purchase.
Hardboards (HBs) (wet-process high-density fibreboards) were made in an industrial trial using a binder system consisting of cationic mimosa tannin and laccase or just cationic tannin without any thermosetting adhesive. The boards displayed superior mechanical strength compared to reference boards made with phenol–formaldehyde, easily exceeding the European standards for general-purpose HBs. The thickness swell of most of the boards was slightly greater than the standards would allow, so some optimisation is required in this area. The improved board properties appear to be mainly associated with ionic interactions involving quaternary amino groups in cationic tannin and negatively charged wood fibres rather than to cross-linking of fibres via laccase-assisted formation and coupling of radicals in tannin and fibre lignin.
A vapor permeation processes for the separation of aromatic compounds from aliphatic compounds

A number of rubbery and glassy membranes have been prepared and evaluated in vapor permeation experiments for separation of aromatic/aliphatic mixtures, using 5/95 (wt:wt) toluene/methylcyclohexane (MCH) as a model solution. Candidate membranes that met the required toluene/MCH selectivity of ≥ 10 were identified. The stability of the candidate membranes was tested by cycling the experiment between higher toluene concentrations and the original 5 wt% level. The best membrane produced has a toluene permeance of 280 gpu and a toluene/MCH selectivity of 13 when tested with a vapor feed of the model mixture at its boiling point and at atmospheric pressure. When a series of related membrane materials are compared, there is a sharp trade-off between membrane permeance and membrane selectivity. A process design study based on the experimental results was conducted. The best preliminary membrane design uses 45% of the energy of a conventional distillation process.
Prominent theories of action recognition suggest that during the recognition of actions the physical patterns of the action is associated with only one action interpretation (e.g., a person waving his arm is recognized as waving). In contrast to this view, studies examining the visual categorization of objects show that objects are recognized in multiple ways (e.g., a VW Beetle can be recognized as a car or a beetle) and that categorization performance is based on the visual and motor movement similarity between objects. Here, we studied whether we find evidence for multiple levels of categorization for social interactions (physical interactions with another person, e.g., handshakes). To do so, we compared visual categorization of objects and social interactions (Experiments 1 and 2) in a grouping task and assessed the usefulness of motor and visual cues (Experiments 3, 4, and 5) for object and social interaction categorization. Additionally, we measured recognition performance associated with recognizing objects and social interactions at different categorization levels (Experiment 6). We found that basic level object categories were associated with a clear recognition advantage compared to subordinate recognition but basic level social interaction categories provided only a little recognition advantage. Moreover, basic level object categories were more strongly associated with similar visual and motor cues than basic level social interaction categories. The results suggest that cognitive categories underlying the recognition of objects and social interactions are associated with different performances. These results are in line with the idea that the same action can be associated with several action interpretations (e.g., a person waving his arm can be recognized as waving or greeting).
The aim of this work was to investigate the mean fill weight control of a continuous capsule-filling process, whether it is possible to derive controller settings from an appendant process model. To that end, a system composed out of fully automated capsule filler and an online gravimetric scale was used to control the filled weight. This setup allows to examine challenges associated with continuous manufacturing processes, such as variations in the amount of active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in the mixture due to fluctuations of the feeders or due to altered excipient batch qualities. Two types of controllers were investigated: a feedback control and a combination of feedback and feedforward control. Although both of those are common in the industry, determining the optimal parameter settings remains an issue. In this study, we developed a method to derive the control parameters based on process models in order to obtain optimal control for each filled product. Determined via rapid automated process development (RAPD), this method is an effective and fast way of determining control parameters. The method allowed us to optimize the weight control for three pharmaceutical excipients. By conducting experiments, we verified the feasibility of the proposed method and studied the dynamics of the controlled system. Our work provides important basic data on how capsule filler can be implemented into continuous manufacturing systems.

Friedrich List is, besides Karl Marx, one of the most important economists of the 19th century in Germany. Probably most modern economists know List for his idea of educational tariffs that protect infant industries from international competition an help them to become competitive before their country opens the domestic market for foreign rivals. Furthermore, List is still popular because of his contribution to establishing a railway system in the USA and Germany. However, a closer look at his work reveals that his ideas about the economic system could enrich the current theoretical and political debate on international trade and integration as well as economic growth.
The paper analyses the importance of List's views on growth and integration from the perspective of modern approaches to economic growth and international economics. Furthermore, some ideas will be presented on how List's ideas could help to explain and understand current economic developments, such as the crisis of the European Union or the new form of isolationism of the United States of America.
Whether diversity enhances or impedes team creativity remains an issue of scholarly debate. Explanations of this ambiguity often lie in how diversity is both operationalized and measured. Eschewing the popular approach of using differences in objective criteria to signal diversity, a deep-level approach that focuses on differences in personal values is taken in this study. Value diversity is measured in the two forms of variety and separation and their associations with team creativity are explored. The investigation is augmented by considering the mediating role of team communication in these associations. The analysis was conducted on a sample of 98 teams, using both subjective and objective measures. The findings reveal that when considering value diversity in terms of variety, there is a positive association between diversity and team creativity. However, when the separation dimension of value diversity is considered, a negative association between diversity and team creativity is identified. Complex pathways pertaining to the role of communication within these relationships are also uncovered. In moving beyond rudimentary categories and measurement of diversity, this study further elucidates the complexity of the diversity–creativity relationship. Conclusions are drawn and implications for further research and managerial practice are derived.
Pharmaceutical companies are among the top investors into research and development (R&D) globally, as product innovation is still the main growth driver for the industry and because the related complexities necessitate enormous R&D investments. The market demand for new medicines to be more efficacious or to provide better safety than existing drugs and the regulatory need to prove superiority in clinical trials are reasons why drug R&D is increasingly expensive and pharmaceutical companies need to manage extraordinarily high costs per approved new compound.
With the continuous development of economy, consumers pay more attention to the demand for personalization clothing. However, the recommendation quality of the existing clothing recommendation system is not enough to meet the user’s needs. When browsing online clothing, facial expression is the salient information to understand the user’s preference. In this paper, we propose a novel method to automatically personalize clothing recommendation based on user emotional analysis. Firstly, the facial expression is classified by multiclass SVM. Next, the user’s multi-interest value is calculated using expression intensity that is obtained by hybrid RCNN. Finally, the multi-interest value is fused to carry out personalized recommendation. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a significant improvement over other algorithms.
